Youth Explosion Experience!

I personally was blessed and I learned the importance of not just being a youth leader but living a life that is holy and pleasing to God. There was different youth groups and they showed different kinds of praising God and it's really not just by singing. They showed drama skits, steppin and dance interpretation. Through that our youth group got exposed to it and everyone was touched by the experience and hopefully in the future we will be able to do the same thing. The whole experience just proved to us that praising God doesn't have to be boring.

See more testimonies from our youth:

It was a really good experience for me. I learned a lot from it because before I was a bad example to my family, and since I came to Christ it really affected my life.
- Albert Moreno

Last nights experience was very touching, i was really affected by the message that elderly scott made. It made me realize that i have a responsibilty to my peers and my family. I have to be an example beacause i represent the ONLY perfect person that ever walked in this earth. My Lord, my King, my BEST friend, Jesus Christ.
- Theo Bernados

My experience last night at Youth Explosion 2007 was great and motivating.I wish to go to the next one next year.
- Miguel Feliciano

Ok last night LBTB youth went to Youth Explosion 2007 in Dublin. It was great because we were a group going to a event filled with other Christians. None of us were nervous or anything I felt like we were all comfortable even tho we were meeting these strangers for the first time! After we were seated the host of the event had a very nice praise and worship, skit, and message to us teenagers. It was kinda different then what I've seen and im used to, but in a good way. Everyone was VERY energetic and praised the lord with everything they had. Then later in the service Elder scotty asked for the youth to come down and stand next to each other if they wanted to be closer to God. So everyone went up and lined up shoulder to shoulder. Then people from the church came to us and took some of us as groups and prayed for us which was pretty awesome because i felt relieved after they had prayed for us. Many tears were shed, lots and lots of smiles across everyones faces because we all felt like God was there with us. After the powerful gathering they had a nice entertainment for us. The church had food, music, a game where everyone can play and dance called dance praise revolution. We also met alot of other christians from all over the bay and everyone was very friendly to each other. I think the best thing was no matter what we looked like or how we acted we were all comftable with each other because we came there for one thing and it was for God. So my experience there was awesome, the fellowship, the praising and all the fun i had. It made me feel like i was one step closer to God.
- Marc Madrinan

Yesterday was fun!! I like the Godkinz =] they're kool, but there was something even cooler. The message pastor Scotty gave us about how to set an example to others. When he asked the youth to come down I was thinking bout it first then i knew I had to do it for GOD. So when the adults was praying for the youth you think that they were the only ones praying for the kids. But i knoew some people who were sitting down was reaching their hands to us and started praying. Also adults were not the only ones praying for the youth, the youth was praying for each other i know. Like me i was praying for myself, Theo, Kuya James bcuz they were beside me. But then I started to pray for the whole youth who came down. I have felt God touch many times in my life. I remember when Pastor Scotty said you will be different when you leave this building? I knew i was going to be right when I stepped out of the door. Now i know my life its gonna be different. And I realize when Pastor Scotty said "doesnt god deserve Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday not only Sunday" After he said that i started praying. Everyday from now on im going to pray more than I usually do and listen to praise and worship. And now i know im going to be closer to God. - Jared Barinna

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. - I Timothy 4:12

First Resort Spring Banquet

On Friday, April 20, 2007, me (Jane), James, Mark, Lulu, Jocelyn, Charmagne and Theo went to First Resort's Spring banquet fundraiser. I was really amazed by the accomplishments that the organization has done in the past 23 years. If you don't know what First Resort is, it is Christian non-profit organization that helps women make decisions with unplanned pregnancies. First resort provides other services such as pregnancy consulting, abstinence and sex education and post- abortion counseling.

The night included dinner, several
PowerPoint presentations, speakers, a song and stories from women. Jessica's story was touching, she came to our church a few years ago to give us her testimony and her experience of having three abortions. Her story brought tears to many people's eyes especially because she could not longer have children due to the effects of the three abortions, but she continued to rely on God for a child, her and husband prayed and guess what? God answered their prayer, she now is a mother of a baby girl named Sophia.

We also heard stories from other women who found First Resort a blessing. God is an GOOD! God shows how much he works in people's lives if he just lets them. First Resort was able to prevent 139 abortions, which is awesome! The theme of the banquet was Psalm 139:13-16
"For thou has posses my veins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

Life is important to God whether it is planned or unplanned. God has a plan for everyone. One of the most important quotes of the night was, "Great things come from unplanned pregnancy." Even Jesus Christ was not a planned pregnancy for Mary and Joseph, and because they were obedient to God, GREAT things occurred.

A man named Ken Jordan sang the song "Mary did you know?" it was an amazing song here are the lyrics:

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Did you know
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered
Will soon deliver you

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Did you know
That your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little boy
You've kissed the face of god

Mary, did you know?
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
And the dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the lamb

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy is lord of all creation?
Did you know
That your baby boy will one day rules the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy is heavens perfect lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding
Is the great I am

Mary didn't know how GREAT her son would be. Today, many women are struggling with a decision on whether or not to keep their child. If you want to help First Resort in anyway through a donation or just by giving your time to volunteer check out their website.

If you have a friend who is struggling with this difficult decision let them know about First Resort, their services are all FREE. God is the ultimate provider.
